Now the display shows dimly or not at all. Ive tried the suggested steps but still could not manage to reboot. If the blank screen occurs after you enter your password and there is a blinking cursor on the screen, see Black or Blank Screen with Blinking Cursor after Entering Windows Password. This, together with recently having updated to Windows 10, made my tech guy think that the issue was not electrical but some incompatibility with Windows 10.

- To clear CMOS remove a hardware that looks like a Lithium cell battery.

By the way the laptop's model is Satellite. You should also confirm that your memory is properly installed, and you may want to replace your BIOS battery.
