I hope they smoke intel, they probably wont. It was a DDR2-3 transitional board, only supporting 8GB of RAM. The big question from a business perspective is why should they? I'm not into corporate charity though. http://www.nasdaq.com/article/why-you-should-dump-advanced-micro-devices-cm653028
I do penetration testing as a hobby and fx 8320 can calculate more passwords per seconds than the highest i5. That is a clear sign that the FX CPUs are a bottleneck. still. Better cpus wont do amd any good if consumers still stick to intel despite higher prices and lower performance.
- You just can't go wrong with AMD, they offer amazing value for money.
- There is the new skylake cpus as well but they are even more expensive and they require DDR4 (also expensive).
- The vast majority of users are going to have an Intel chip, and likely one with 4 cores or less given how pricey Intel's 6+ core models are.
- You won't really have any bottleneck with a 970.
- I do like AMD over Intel, because they offer better bang for buck.
- History has repeated itself again as AMD has proved that it has a habit of over promising and under delivering.Just after the launch of RX 480, the company started getting complaints
Also all of those FX CPUs will bottleneck a 970 in some games. Until then, I'm all AMD. an amd fury will run allout 4 slower than a 970 despite the higher specs. I tried the beta driver and my fan was louder than a airplane. http://www.investorguide.com/article/20023/dump-amd-buy-nvidia-ahead-earnings/ Well, an Intel fanboy like you might say "oh go get a g3258 and overclock it to 4.7GHZ" or whatever, but that's still only a dual core. You do realize that AMD hasn't released a new CPU in like 3 years right? You won't really have any bottleneck with a 970.

Games like GTA5, BF4 require a quad core or more to run decently. If AMD was the CPU market leader and chose to completely gut their single threaded performance to cram more cores onto their CPU, then developers would have incentive to improve multithreading
Intel was better than AMD 3 years ago and that gap has only widened with the new Intel chips that have come out since then. i got this problem just 2 days ago after i played dota 2 and open the facebook.. I'm not going to give AMD my money just because they are they little guy if they haven't earned it. While AMD do offer lower prices, even me, an AMD fanboy, will admit Intel CPUs do perform a bit better.

They are back to where they should be. There are a small number of titles that do seem to benefit from having faster RAM eg. The *ONLY* reason that AMD FX is still relevant is because they're cheap. We dont know how it will perform and given AMDs current track record we should assume that it will not catch intel.
firstly i got BSOD and message like this "Kernel_data_inpage_error" then i check using CHKDSK.. Why would buying an 8 core AMD CPU yield any different results? I don't want to panic, but I'd rather just cut my losses before they get huge. Intel has not been improving their cpus as much as they used to and they have been over charging their cpus lately precisely because AMD is sinking. king3pjDec 11, 2015, 10:19 AM qwertyK said: Yes, but it will not be as much as it would be with an old i7. fall out 4 hates amd for some reason. If you don't want to do that, you'll have to pay premium for intel's overpriced skylake and whatever new overpriced chips they make in the future.
Fallout 4 is one of them. Everything works fine except for memory.dmp error after turning on the computer. My vote is to upgrade the cpu + motherboard.
