Should I Overclock?
It's also possible, although unlikely, to destroy components. It's not necessary, and it's not something I would learn with a brand new chip, but maybe later you can play around to try and squeeze out a bit of performance. i used to have mine overclocked, then my motherboard died, and i haven't overclocked it again. Hard drives, RAM, and graphics may be more serious bottlenecks.
But I don't turn my nose up at people who are trying to do more. But the term generally applies to the main processor, and that's what I'll be discussing here. You will crash more often and need to understand why and how to solve the problem. This is my own opinion, but I feel as if overclocking (while still useful and fun) isn't really as worthwhile as it used to be. http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/should-you-overclock-your-pcs-processor/

For one, it might damage your hardware, although bringing up the speed a notch or two is probably safe. - You can't just click a few buttons and expect it to work out.
- Whenever you decide to upgrade your GPU then you can consider CPU overclock.
- you can do that as well with 4670K so for 90K it wouldn't be much of a hassle. As I said, it depends on the CPU cooler, if you own a 30$

Why Overclock Gpu
I haven't bought an aftermarket cooler yet, so overclocking is still a bit down the road, but I know I'll enjoy it when I get there. It's a small price to pay for some potential overclock you might do when you find stock to be inadequate. There are still ivy/sandy CPUs that are destroying any game out there and they are a generation old. Because it not meant to be harsh just straightforward truth. Should You Overclock Your Cpu

Is overclocking worth it? What Does Overclocking A Gpu Do Yes – and no. If you apply a voltage across it, the depletion region widens.

We have to make sure we're catering to all levels of expertise on this sub, because we all started somewhere. My 3770k runs at 3.4 out of the box, but with a Corsair H60 closed loop water cooler (average price $60) I've been able to overclock it to 4.5ghz.-Byshop GameSpot Forums christopOct 16, 2011, 9:17 AM If you need convincing you shouldn't even bother with it. Being optimistic, are we?Why not? The problem is that my motherboard has massive vdroop issues (0.8-9v differential between stress v and idle v) so I'm riding the max v edge with occasional minor spikes in dangerous most of the mainboards come with software that allows you to overclock with ease. CPUs have a stock voltage which they rarely use all of - but when you increase clock speeds you can hit this voltage.
So I'm hoping you guys have some more concrete advice. Sign in to report inappropriate content. You could probably get a better OC and keep the temps down to.But as long as she is giving you the performance you want, I don't see any reason to up Amazing!
However I am not in the same position you are. You can do a quick and janky overclock procedure just by downloading the right software and changing a few settings, but this is going to cause a lot more trouble than I guess now I understand why so many people put disclaimers up before making overclocking tutorials and such. If your machine is new enough to run the latest titles, its CPU/GPU are likely sufficient already.
Also with DX12/Mantle we're pushing further and further from CPU bottle necking. You wish you could have just slightly better CPU power so you could keep your settings maxed, but not have to suffer that lag.
