And are you using 32 bit or 64 bit Windows 7? How do I get the computer to stop reinstalling the webcam driver everytime I try to uninstall? BlogAdmin on Wed, 28th Jan 2009 10:02 am @Matthew - In Vista you the exact error message that shows up is: "internet explorer has stopped working" and then it restarts my internet explorer. It would overwrite your current driver. https://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/3218-sony-vaio-webcams-application-works-fine.html

  1. Look for CyberLink YouCam.
  2. i will check.
  3. if it did get uninstalled i could just re-install it.
  4. Most are either that the device is not really Vista compatible or that the drivers are incorrect.
  5. They also have a separate community where you can post your inquiry about your VAIO computer.
  6. What is the OS you are running, Windows XP or Vista? @Ellise - What program are you using?
  7. If that works fine, you might need to do a fresh install of XP on your system.
  8. Can I just install the notebook utilities drivers?I see that I can get the original drivers for my model on Sony's site as a package.
  9. My guess is that sony needs to give us updated drivers or some firmware update (not sure what the exact problem is in this case).
  10. I could take snapshots just not video recording.
  11. Kyle on Wed, 11th Mar 2009 10:41 pm @Marie - have you taken a look at Anthony's article?

In the registry you need to add a "UseVfw" DWORD entry with value 1 in the key: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\Webcam If that does not work, try: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\Pager\UseVfw These options should not really be http://community.sony.com/t5/Windows-8/Microsoft-USB2-0-Video-webcam-driver-for-VPCF22KFX-PCG-81312L/td-p/36241/page/2 Thanks for your help! :-) Kyle on Thu, 12th Feb 2009 1:40 pm @Reg - Glad to be of help. it was solved by disabling "fast startup" option in windows 8.x power management menu.My model is VPCSA3L9E.This info might be helpful for people with the same problem.. I have the most updated intel drivers and most of the sony's 8.x drivers too. This could be a lot of help.

Kyle on Thu, 9th Apr 2009 9:36 am @Vicki - Considering that it works with all your other contacts, it is probably something to do with the setup/configuration of Totaly confused and annoyed becuase i havnt even had it for 24hours yet! I installed it as the manual says but i have only the lowest resolution available (160 x 120). Try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it.
